Say Their Names - A Tragically expanding list
Since June 24, 2020, we are observing a weekly vigil in honor of George Floyd by reading the names of some, but far from all, Black and Brown people murdered by law enFORCEment, followed by 9 minutes and 29 seconds of silence.
“You speak my name and I will live forever”
We gather at 96th Street and Broadway every Friday at 5pm to SAY THEIR NAMES. Given weather unpredictability, if it is raining at 4:30pm, the Vigil will resume the following Friday at 5pm. Winter vigils are held at 4:30pm due to Daylight Savings.
