NYCAN (New York Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons)

NYCAN, New York Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, was formed in 2018 with the express purpose of enacting nuclear disarmament legislation in New York City. Working closely with City Council Member Danny Dromm, it was successful in the development and passage of Resolution 976-2019 and INT. 1621-2019. It continues to advocate for powerful and effective implementation of the legislation and in the divestment of New York City’s pensions and finances from nuclear weapons production. Its members are affiliated with the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), 2017 Nobel Peace Laureate.  It holds weekly meetings and is open to the participation of New York City residents. Anyone interested in joining should contact Robert Croonquist at rcroon@gmail.com.
