TUESDAY NIGHT GENERAL MEETING GUIDELINES

How to Request Rise And Resist Support for a New Action

RAR can provide one of two levels of support to an action

  • Sponsorship is an action initiated by a group of RAR members to be planned and conducted either by RAR alone, or by those members in partnership with another organization. Sponsorship entitles the action to seek the full range of RAR resources, including communications, marshals, props, and finances.

  • Endorsement occurs when RAR allows an outside group that is planning an action to list RAR among the organizations endorsing the action. RAR commits to publicizing the action, but we do not commit resources to the action.

Suggestions for Presenting a Report-Back

Please organize your report back before presenting it to the room. We advise that only one or two people give the report back (keeping our step up/step back suggestions in mind when deciding whom among the organizers should report). Report backs should be succinct and include

  • Anything important or unusual that happened

  • Anything members learned from it, for future actions

  • Anything that could have been improved upon

Suggestions for Proposing an Action

  • Be prepared to lead it

  • Have a clear objective

  • Have a clear target

  • Have a clear time and place

  • Think about timelines and urgency

  • Think about campaigns and strategy

  • Provide contact info for the minutes
