Hang Up Your Badge Officer (on this weeping cherry tree)

  • Melrose Houses 320 East 156th Street (between Courtlandt Ave and Morris) Bronx, NY, 10451 United States (map)

This is a public call for officer Mark Weekes of Schenectady Police Dept to hang up his badge to atone for the death of Andrew Kearse and express his remorse to the widow of the man he killed on the first anniversary of Andrew’s death.

We are planting a weeping cherry tree in front of the apartment building of the widow of Andrew Kearse and hanging a symbolic police badge and police belt to make space for the officer Mark Weekes, responsible for a death of Andrew, to come forward and express his remorse.

The widow Angie Kearse, BLM community, Rise and Resist, Peace Accelerators, local community came to Schenectady Police Department on February 10th, 2018 so Angie could face and speak to the officer responsible for her husband’s death. We were greeted with an empty Police precinct. It is now the officer’s chance to come forward and take action for justice.

Come and Join us!
