An Incomplete History of Protest: Selections from the Whitney

  • Whitney Museum of American Art 99 Gansevoort Street New York, NY, 10014 United States (map)

Rise and Resist goes to the museum.

"An Incomplete History of Protest: Selections from the Whitney’s Collection, 1940–2017" offers a sequence of historical case studies focused on particular moments and themes—from questions of representation to the fight for civil rights—that remain relevant today. At the root of the exhibition is the belief that artists play a profound role in transforming their time and shaping the future.

Friday night is Pay-What-You-Wish at the Whitney. Pay-What-You-Wish tickets are available at the admissions desk on Fridays, 7–9:30 pm. They may not be purchased in advance.

You are welcome to bring friends to this event.

If we identify a place near the museum to gather beforehand for dinner, we will update this event.
